Jazo F.: Redefining Hip-Hop with Authenticity and Vision

Jazo F., an artist hailing from Elmont, Long Island, and Rockaway Park, Queens, now calls Queens Village home. Starting her creative journey with poetry in junior high school, Jazo transitioned to music after graduating high school. Her sound blends hip-hop, melodic rap, and emo influences, with Drake, Wayne, Nicki, Nas, and Young Thug serving as her biggest inspirations. She describes her music as vibey, melodic, and relatable.

Her most popular track, DOLO, has amassed over 20,000 streams and earned airplay on BET Jams and MTV. Following the release of her EP Pretty Girls Don’t Die in January 2024, she plans to release its sequel, PGDD2, on the one-year anniversary. The Pretty Girls Don’t Die project reflects Jazo's belief that all women are warriors who face adversity without letting their spirit or mental well-being fade.

A Creative Process Rooted in Peace and Authenticity

For Jazo, creating music is about comfort and peace. She surrounds herself with people who inspire tranquility and lets the beat guide her songwriting process, often starting with melodies that align with her emotions. Life experiences serve as her greatest inspiration, providing an outlet for expression and connection.

Jazo wants listeners to see her humanity and understand that "we are more alike than we are different." Her authenticity shines through in every track, and she encourages aspiring artists to "stay consistent" and follow their passions.

Performances and Recognition

Jazo has performed live for notable audiences, including Success from Atlantic Records, Roc Nation’s Lenny S., Jim Jones, DJ Envy, and DJ Self. Her favorite performance to date was in Miami, and she dreams of an ideal live show featuring a DJ well-versed in her music, stage lights, dancers, and an electrified crowd.

Her accomplishments include having her single "Jabbin" played on Power 105.1 by DJ Self and Titan Radio by DJ Don Demarco, as well as joining DJ Drewski on a promotional tour.

A Vision Beyond Music

Beyond her music, Jazo channels her creativity into fashion and visuals. She created brands like Pretty Girls Society and Pretty Girls Don’t Die, offering apparel, hats, and accessories. Her videos, such as “IDLU,” showcase her imaginative flair, often inspired by iconic movies like The Hangover.

In addition to music, Jazo is an entrepreneur who customizes Air Force Ones and runs Valid Pizza by Jazo, where she creates infused pizzas. Her social media platforms (@iamjazof_ on Instagram, @jaz0f on TikTok, and more) serve as hubs for her multifaceted brand.

Upcoming Events

Jazo is set to headline her first show on December 13 at Please Tell Me Bar in Brooklyn, previewing unreleased music videos and featuring special guests, performances, vendors, and media. She sees this event as a prime networking opportunity and a chance to connect with her growing fanbase.

Breaking Barriers in the Industry

Jazo’s goal is to leave a lasting footprint in the music industry through her innovation and authenticity. She isn’t afraid to challenge norms and plans to inspire change, one person at a time, by spreading positivity and unity.

When asked what journalists often overlook, she mentioned wanting to be asked about the aspects of the industry she dislikes and how she intends to transform them. Her unorthodox thinking and relentless drive are sure to keep her fans and peers captivated as she continues to grow.
