What's Good Ya'll!!! Can we be real friends? lol I'm a hater for real. I hated Bryson Tiller for the longest when he first came out because ya'll hyped him up so much and I ain't see the big deal ok! lol but then years later I decided to listen to 'TrapSoul' and I would apologize but I'm a Gemini so there's that lol. Now till this day I'm still not a huge Bryson Tiller fan but I have found myself listening to him more than I'd like to admit so...now I'm a liar clearly. Ok so then here's the truth friends lol I have a love/hate relationship with Bryson Tiller, he has so much potential but he disappoints me from time to time, which I'll get to in a bit. Tiller began his career in 2011 with the release of his debut mixtape 'Killer Instinct Vol. 1.' But, it was his mainstream recognition of 2015s' 'Don't' that gained him a recording contract with RCA Records which led to his debut studio album 'TrapSoul.' Bryson has had a lot to live up to since 'TrapSoul' and to be honest I'm not sure how much his self-titled album measures up.
To be honest, I hate comparing artists to their last or their greatest projects, I've mentioned that before. I feel like it does a disservice to the artists and my love of music overall you know? So with a clear mind release 'TrapSoul' and take a listen to Bryson Tillers latest self titled album. Below I attached 'CALYPSO' which is not only a single but a current favorite of mine on the album. I also loved 'Persuasion' ft. Victoria Monet, lyrically and vibe wise, I wanted more like that song. I also liked a few others like 'Outside', "Undertow' and 'Whatever She Wants' which is a bonus track. Now while I did end up adding 5 songs to the playlist, there are 19 songs on the album and only 5 made the cut...
I have only listened to the album twice all the way through, so I'm not the final decision at all to decide on if this is a great album or not. I do feel like Bryson Tiller still has room to grow as an artist and I hope he continues to work with different produces that can enhance his sound the way it was done on 'Persuasion'. After looking into the song I see why I love it, it was produced by D'Mile, Chiiild, Azad Right and Young Yonny. Anything D'Mile touches is magic wow.
I obviously like Bryson, I just don't love this album, however do not let my verdict be the one to stop you, also this is the year of tours so if you want to see if Bryson is coming to a town near you, follow him on IG:https://www.instagram.com/brysontiller/?hl=en
